Sizing Information – Please Check Before Ordering
• Bridal sizing typically runs 2-3 sizes smaller than standard high street sizing.
• Each designer may use different measurements. We highly recommend referring to the size guide provided on the product page for the specific gown you are considering.
• To ensure an accurate fit, we advise having your measurements taken by a professional tailor or seamstress before purchasing.
• Key measurements to check: bust, waist, and hips. Please note that the bust size/measurement is not your bra size.
• Alterations may be required to achieve the perfect fit. Gowns can often be taken in but cannot always be let out.
If you are unsure about sizing, please contact us before purchasing for assistance.
Typical Alterations You May Need
Most brides will require some alterations to achieve the perfect fit. Common adjustments include shortening the hem to suit your height, tightening the shoulders or straps for better support, and taking in the bodice at the bust, waist, or hips. If your gown has sleeves, these may also need to be narrowed or shortened. A professional seamstress can help tailor the dress to your body shape, ensuring it looks and feels just right for your big day.
Can I Try On a Gown?
We are pleased, on occasion, to offer brides the opportunity to try on a discounted line at our showroom in Swansea, typically these gowns are not stored at nor are they sold at the store at the discounted price.
A non-refundable fee is required to cover shipping costs to bring the gown to our boutique by prior arrangement.
What to Expect from an Ex Off-the-Peg Gown
Ex off-the-peg gowns are dresses that were originally part of a boutique’s ready-to-wear collection. These gowns have typically not been tried on as frequently as sample dresses but may have been displayed on the shop floor or handled by customers. They are sold as-is and may show light signs of wear such as slight creasing, minimal dust along the hem, or minor cosmetic flaws. These imperfections do not affect the wearability of the gown and are reflected in the reduced price. Any notable issues will be detailed in the individual product description. As always, we encourage you to reach out with any questions before purchasing.
What to Expect from an Ex-Sample Gown
Many gowns at J’Taime Bridal’s Discounted Lines are ex-sample dresses, meaning they have been tried on in-store but never worn down the aisle. As a result, some minor signs of wear are to be expected.
These may include:
✅ Wrinkles from storage or shipping
✅ Loose threads, internal marks on the lining, or slight dust on the hem
✅ Minor imperfections to tulle, mesh, or beadwork and general fabric
✅ Missing or loosened buttons, beads, or embellishments
Any significant flaws beyond general wear will be clearly stated in the product listing. If you have any questions about a gown’s condition, please contact us via our contact form before purchasing.
